The Called Initiative |  Mentoring Women in Ministry

Discover Your Calling. Step Into Leadership.

The Called Initiative is a summer mentoring program created to disciple and equip Christian women for leadership in the Church and the world. If you’ve sensed God calling you into ministry but haven’t always known where to turn for guidance or support, this program was designed with you in mind.

Many gifted women long to serve Christ faithfully in their churches and communities, yet encounter theological or cultural barriers that limit access to mentoring, leadership training, or ministry networks. The Called Initiative exists to bridge that gap—offering encouragement, theological depth, and practical tools to help women thrive in their callings.

In 2026, twelve women will be selected through an application process to join a hybrid cohort experience that combines spiritual formation, theological study, mentoring, and leadership development. Thanks to grant funding and generous partners, there is no cost to participate—removing financial barriers so women from diverse racial, ethnic, geographic, and economic backgrounds can be equipped for ministry.

Program highlights include weekly Zoom gatherings throughout the summer, three mentor–mentee sessions, and two in-person weekend retreats—one to launch the program the weekend of May 30, 2026, and another to conclude it the weekend of September 6, 2026. These retreats bookend the experience, providing time for community building, reflection, and renewal. Participants will also complete a capstone project, designing and launching a digital ministry initiative. In addition, they receive professional development support, including headshots, ministry webpages, and digital communication training to help them present their work and witness with confidence.

The curriculum unfolds in three stages:

  • Scripture & Canon (June) — exploring the authority and formation of Scripture

  • Women in the Bible and Christian History (July) — uncovering the stories and contributions of women leaders across Scripture and the Church

  • A Biblical Theology of Leadership (August) — developing a vision of Christ-shaped leadership rooted in humility and service

Through these experiences, The Called Initiative cultivates a community of women who are discerning, equipped, and encouraged to live out their calling. Together, we are building unity in the Church as we support women’s ordination and full inclusion in ministry—helping every woman who hears God’s call find the courage and tools to answer it.
